A small flag with a slogan was chosen to be placed next to the rubbish and next to the bin. It was amazing that a sanitation worker passed by and didn’t pick up the rubbish in the bin. I later interviewed a few passers-by, some said they thought it was performance art and didn’t pick it up, while others thought there were sanitation workers who would clean up the rubbish.
Conclusion: Even after being reminded of the presence of litter in public spaces, people still choose to ignore it rather than protect the environment in public spaces. Therefore, the lack of social cohesion is the reason for the neglect of the environment in public spaces.
