24/10 tutorial

swot

change name to “how can we increase the comfort level of people in public parks?”

It was interesting, our tutor asked us to write swot analyses and then turn the weaknesses in them into strengths, which I felt gave a more holistic view of our project and uncovered its potential possibilities. For example, mine is that I think my project is very small scale, so it’s not as influential, so it means that my project doesn’t bother people who don’t care about the project, etc.

dragon mentioned that I could refer to cbt to enrich my project. Cognition is a person’s perception and view of an event or object, their opinion of themselves, their thoughts about people, their environment and their opinions about things.
Cognitive behavioural therapy believes that a person’s emotions come from the person’s beliefs, evaluations, interpretations or philosophical views about what is encountered, rather than from the thing itself. As A. T. Beck, a leading exponent of cognitive therapy, put it, “maladaptive behaviour and emotions are rooted in maladaptive cognitions”.
For example, a person who “thinks” that he is not doing well enough and that even his parents don’t like him has no confidence in anything he does, low self-esteem and a bad mood. The therapeutic strategy is to help the person reconstruct their cognitive structure, re-evaluate themselves, rebuild their confidence in themselves and change their perception of themselves as “bad”.
Cognitive-behavioural therapy considers that the goal of treatment is not only to address the external manifestations of behaviour and emotions, but also to analyse the patient’s thinking activities and coping strategies and to identify and correct any misconceptions.
However, it is impossible for me to learn such specialized psychological knowledge in such a short time, but I can learn from it.
